Ummason Kimchi Korean Restaurant in Quezon City

Are you craving for some Korean Samgyupsal? Check out Ummason Kimchi Korean Restaurant in Quezon City.

I’ve made it no secret. Korean BBQ is one of my favorites. When I tried Korean Barbecue for the first time, I was amazed with a large assortment of banchan given on the side. I didn’t know that it is normal in almost all Korean restaurants.

It was fascinating because I was so used to the basic traditional Filipino meal, which consists of two essential things: kanin (cooked rice) and ulam (main dish). If the ulam is dry (anything fried), then we would have a separate bowl for soup. That’s it. Kinda boring? Sometimes.

If you are not familiar with banchan, it is actually all the side dishes that comes with your meal like various kimchis (cabbage, cucumber, radish) and seasoned vegetables like steamed water spinach or bean sprouts tossed with sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar, chili flakes and red bean paste. So, imagine my wide eyed fascination when I got so many side dishes for the first time.

Last December, my friends and I have been looking for a good Korean Barbecue restaurant near our office in Quezon City. A simple search in Zomato led us to Ummason Kimchi Korean Restaurant. There were not so many reviews, but all of it said the place is a must try. With promising reviews like that, we had to try it out and I’m glad we did!

Where is Ummason Kimchi Korean Restaurant located?

Ummason Kimchi Korean Restaurant is at Don Antonio Heights, Batasan Hills, Quezon City.  In case you aren’t familiar, it is a small Korean place near Puregold Don Antonio and Korea Mart. It really is a hidden gem in Don Antonio.

I was very satisfied on our first visit that I invited my friends to pig out again last week! Ummason Kimchi Korean Restaurant may not be the best Korean BBQ that I have tried, but I really like their banchan, a few selections of meats and service of the staff.

Overall Experience

In a nutshell, we were well and truly stuffed. I will surely come back for a third time! Thank you so much Ummason Kimchi Korean Restaurant for the very meaty meal!
