If you’re looking for a Hong Kong Disneyland itinerary, you’re in the right place. I grew up watching Disney movies, but when Hong Kong Disneyland opened 20 years ago, visiting the park never felt like an option. It’s not that I didn’t want to go—it just seemed out of reach. Growing up in the Philippines, travel was a luxury only a few could afford, and Disneyland felt like something only the privileged got to experience.
Years later, after finishing school and finally having the chance to travel abroad, I somehow forgot about Disneyland altogether. But last month, when my cousins visited Hong Kong for the first time, they were excited to include Disneyland in our itinerary. I figured, why not?
Hong Kong Disneyland may be smaller than Tokyo Disneyland or DisneySea, but the moment I stepped inside, I got it. I understood the magic, the nostalgia, and the charm that makes people fall in love with Disneyland.
If it’s your first time visiting Hong Kong, this guide is for you! I’m sharing the exact Hong Kong Disneyland itinerary we followed to make the most of our visit. I’ve also updated it to include all the exciting new experiences for Hong Kong Disneyland’s 20th anniversary celebration. Hope this helps you plan a truly magical day! 🎆

Planning your visit to Hong Kong Disneyland
Where to buy tickets for Disneyland?
You can purchase tickets at the Disneyland entrance, but I highly recommend buying them online to skip the long queues. Tickets are available on the official Hong Kong Disneyland website, Disneyland mobile app or through trusted third-party platforms like Klook and GetYourGuide.
What type of tickets you need?
- Disneyland 1-Day Ticket (4,432 pesos) – this ticket gives you whole day access to Hong Kong Disneyland
- Non-stop 2-Day Fun Ticket (5,516 pesos) – this ticket gives you access to Hong Kong Disneyland for 2 consecutive days
- 1-Day Ticket + Early Park Entry Pass (5,932 pesos) – This ticket lets you enter Hong Kong Disneyland one hour before the official opening time

What are Hong Kong Disneyland’s skip-the-line systems?
Disney Premier Access (DPA) is Hong Kong Disneyland’s paid skip-the-line service, designed to save you time and help you make the most of your day. It lets you enter a priority queue that’s significantly shorter and faster than the regular standby lines. Unlike the old FastPass system, Disney Premier Access now covers even more attractions across the park.
There are two types of Disney Premier Access:
- Single Attraction DPA – Gives you priority access to one specific attraction. Most major rides in the park offer this option.
- DPA Packages – Available in bundles of 3 or 8 attractions, these offer better value if you plan to skip lines for multiple rides. It’s a more economical choice compared to purchasing a single DPA for each attraction separately.
Is Disney Premier Access worth it?
Unless you’re visiting during peak seasons, like Chinese New Year, Easter, or Christmas, Disney Premier Access may not be worth it. On most regular days, even the most popular attractions like Frozen Ever After usually have wait times of 30 minutes or less. If you’re planning your visit on a weekday or during off-peak months, you can comfortably enjoy the park without the DPA.
How to maximise your visit in Hong Kong Disneyland?
- Avoid weekends, national holidays, and school breaks.
- Buy your tickets online through the Hong Kong Disneyland website, the Tokyo Disney Resort App, or trusted third-party providers like Klook and GetYourGuide to skip the ticket counter queues.
- Install the Tokyo Disney Resort App (available on the App Store and Google Play) to check real-time wait times, show schedules, and mobile food ordering.
- In the app, familiarize yourself with the park map to easily navigate and find attractions.
- If you’re visiting during peak seasons, I recommend buying Disney Premier Access (DPA) to skip long queues and save time.
- Show your e-ticket QR code at the entrance. No need to print it! Just have it ready on your smartphone.
- If you’re okay with riding separately from your group, take advantage of the Single Rider queue available at select attractions. It’s one of the best ways to skip the long standby lines and save time, especially on busy days. Single Rider is available at:
- Space Mountain
- Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars
- Toy Soldier Parachute Drop
Is the Early Park Entry Pass Worth it at Hong Kong Disneyland?
The Early Park Entry Pass lets you enter the park 1 hour before the official opening time. This means you can ride 1–2 of the most popular attractions before the crowds arrive. Think Frozen Ever After, Mystic Manor, or Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars with little to no wait.
Worth it if you’re visiting during weekends, holidays, or peak seasons. Not necessary if you’re visiting on a weekday with low crowd levels and you don’t mind waiting in regular queues.
Does Disneyland Hong Kong have luggage storage?
You can store your bags at the Luggage Valet on Park Promenade, right near the MTR Disneyland Resort Station. It costs HK$150 per item, regardless of size, for the whole day. Just note that both the luggage valet and storage lockers are only available during park hours—and nope, you can’t leave anything overnight.

Where to stay when going to Disneyland Hong Kong?
Hong Kong Disneyland Hotels
If you’re all about the full Disney experience, then staying at one of the Disney hotels may be worth it. There’s no Early Park Entry, but staying on-site means you’re just minutes away from the magic (plus, free shuttle rides and super cute photo ops). I’d say go for it if you’re celebrating something special or traveling with kids. There are three Hong Kong Disneyland hotels to choose from: Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, Disney Explorers Lodge, and Disney’s Hollywood Hotel.
Hotels Near Hong Kong Disneyland
If you’re planning to explore multiple spots on Lantau Island—like riding the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car, shopping at Citygate Outlets, or even hopping over to Macau—then staying in Tung Chung is a convenient choice. Hotels in this area put you close to all the action and many of them offer free shuttle service to Hong Kong International Airport. Some hotel options to consider are Novotel Citygate Hong Kong and The Silveri Hong Kong – MGallery.
Hotels in Hong Kong City Center
If you’re planning to explore more of Hong Kong and only spend one day at the park, it’s also practical to stay in areas like Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, or Mong Kok. These neighborhoods give you easy access to the city’s top attractions, great food spots, and shopping—plus they’re well-connected to Hong Kong Disneyland by train. Some hotel options to consider are Atlas Guesthouse & Backpackers, Little Tai Hang, Townplace West Kowloon, and Rosedale Hotel Hong Kong.

How to get to Disneyland?
The cheapest way to get to Hong Kong Disneyland is by MTR. Just hop on the Tung Chung Line and get off at Sunny Bay Station, then transfer to the Disneyland Resort Line—aka the cutest train ride ever.
If you’re coming straight from the airport, a taxi is faster—less than 20 minutes and costs around HK$200 (about ₱1,400). Not bad if you’re carrying luggage or traveling with kids!
If you’re traveling as a group of six, booking a private transfer to Hong Kong Disneyland can be a smart and hassle-free option. Rates start at ₱2,600, and when you split that between the group, it turns out to be a pretty great deal

Hong Kong Disneyland Itinerary FAQs
Is there wifi in Hong Kong Disneyland?
Although Hong Kong Disneyland has free WiFi in certain areas, it’s best to have your own internet connection. I recommend getting an eSIM or local SIM card so you can check ride wait times, navigate the park easily, and stay connected with your group (because getting separated while hunting down a turkey leg is no fun 😂). Here are some options to stay online during your trip:
- eSIM with Unlimited Data – The most convenient option! No need to remove your original SIM. You can keep your home number active for OTPs, texts, and calls.
- Physical SIM Card – Perfect if your phone doesn’t support eSIM. Just pop it into your unlocked phone, and you’re all set!
- Pocket WiFi with Unlimited Data – Great for groups because you can connect multiple devices. BUT—if your group splits up (trust me, it happens 🙃), someone could be left without internet. I still recommend having an eSIM or SIM card as backup, just in case.
Can you store luggage at Hong Kong Disneyland?
Yes, you can store your luggage at Hong Kong Disneyland! There are storage lockers inside the park, located midway up Main Street, U.S.A. These are great for small items (lockers measure 45cm x 35cm x 43cm), perfect for daypacks or shopping hauls you don’t want to carry around.
For larger suitcases or anything that won’t fit in the lockers, head to the Luggage Valet near the MTR Disneyland Resort Station entrance. They’ll store bags of any size for HK$150 (about ₱1,079) per item.
Just remember, both options are only available during park hours—no overnight storage.
What can you NOT bring into Hong Kong Disneyland?
You can’t bring in outside food (except for baby food or special dietary needs), alcohol, glass containers, or selfie sticks. Large suitcases and wheeled luggage are also not allowed inside the park. Prohibited items include sharp objects, drones, tripods over 6 feet, and anything that might disrupt the experience or safety of others.
Can I bring snacks to Hong Kong Disneyland?
Technically, outside food and drinks aren’t allowed—but small snacks tucked into your bag (think crackers or granola bars) are usually okay and not enforced strictly. Just don’t pack full meals or anything that might draw attention.
Can we bring a water bottle to Disneyland Hong Kong?
Yes, absolutely! Refillable water bottles are allowed and encouraged. There are several water refill stations throughout the park, so you can stay hydrated without constantly buying bottled water.

And that’s a wrap, friends! I hope this Hong Kong Disneyland itinerary helps you plan a smooth, magical day at the park. Got tips of your own? Questions? Funny Disney stories? I’d love to hear them—drop a comment below and let’s swap travel notes!
